So this is the first record I have found from Iceland (unless I have some Sugarcubes hiding somewhere).  When I find records like this, I always imagine what a strange journey they must have had over the last half-century, being crated around the world from Reykjavík to a thrift store in Houston, Texas.

I was trying to discover if this was a Christmas-themed record, I found that this LP has its own page on the Icelandic Wikipedia! I google translated it to save you the trouble:  (And, yes, it’s a Christmas record)

My kids Hello 33-rpm LP record issued by SG – records in 1965. On her moves Omar Ragnarsson Christmas songs for children – Telpnakór assistance – exposure and conducting: Magnus Ingimarsson. Drawing on the front did Halldor Petursson. Photo on the back took Kristjan Magnusson. The album was taped in Broadcasting.

This album has ten songs suitable for children, light verses, which will be reliable all for fun. The first of the count naught, for three verses by Thorstein Ö. Stephensen, transferred in a children broadcasting for over two decades. Verses Thorstein impressed the young generation and the rake probably also the young generation, who listen to this album.

From the collection of John Spath.

Korla, aka John Roland Redd, was a star in the early days of TV in California. Few knew he was actually the son of a black preacher in Missouri! Before his death in 1998, he appeared as himself in the movie Ed Wood.
